Late last year I was on vacation with family in the city of Makassar, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Besides enjoying the culinary tourist and historical attractions in the city formerly known as Ujunpandang, I visited one of the attractions of nature there. National Park Bantimurung its name. Not hard to get to the National Park Bantimurung – Bulusaraung. This tourist attraction located in the district Bantimurung, Maros Regency, or about 45 kilometers from the city of Makassar. On arriving at the gate Bantimurung, a giant statue of a monkey and butterflies ready to pick. Both of these animals is an icon Bantimurung. Therefore, tailless monkeys with the Latin name Macaca Maura and hundreds of butterflies endemic species can still be found around the site.
No wonder the foreigners from England, Alfred Russel Wallace to give nicknames to the Nature Park and Nature Reserve Bantimurung as the “Kingdom of Butterflies“, after finding hundreds of species of butterflies endemic to Bantimurung. Among Catapsilia Pamona flava, sp Anartia, Calastrina sp, sp Danis, Papilio and Vindula Arsinoe.
To Achieve the ticket booth, you can just walk about 100 meters between dozens of stalls are arranged beautifully on the left and right side of paved roads. Dozens of stalls that sell a variety of traditional foods such as gogos, burasa and songkolo made of glutinous rice, as well as snacks and drinks bottles and boxes.
In the same line of stalls there selling souvenirs in the form of butterflies that have been dried and packed in an attractive frame. Also keychains that the material is made from a type of insect or insects.
When entering the complex natural tourist attraction of this area of 43,750 hectares, I was greeted childrens playing in a pool on the left side. In this attraction, there are three pools. The water continues to change at any time because it comes from the mountains flowing water.
